A few things to keep in mind...

  • Generally speaking, work-at-home jobs are not as secure or well-paying as brick-and-mortar jobs.
  • Many people need to have several part-time jobs to make a full-time income.
  • With small kids who can’t work on their own, you’ll want to look for something with a flexible schedule if you don’t have regular childcare.
  • Apply to as many jobs as you can. Keep trying! Something will turn up!
  • If you get offered more than one and you can do them both, do that. It’s always best to have a solid plan B in order to ensure uninterrupted economic stability.
  • Most home jobs require broadband Internet. Many also require a computer with Windows XP and/or a land line telephone line.
  • There are a lot of work-at-home scams out there. RESEARCH BEFORE APPLYING.
  • Tips for spotting work-at-home scams.
  • Excepting small background check fees from well-established companies, you should never pay to work anywhere.
  • There are no adult-oriented jobs or affiliate links of any kind on this page.
  • I am constantly adding and amending these links, so check back often.
  • If you have your own delicious.com account, you can suggest links to me and I’ll consider adding them!
  • MOST OF THESE COMPANIES ARE US-BASED. I have a sub directory of companies that hire internationally all the way at the bottom!

Please feel free to make suggestions about new resources!!! Many thanks to the wonderful people at WorkPlaceLikeHome Forums, Rat Race Rebellion and WAHM.com for many of the links and lists on this page.

  5. Rosa Said,

I’ve been browsing around today looking for new WAH opportunities and have been surprised to not see my current company mentioned. I’ve been working for several months now doing copy writing for wordgigs.com. I homeschool my five kids and have still been able to make an average of 800-900/mo there. (Well, school is about to actually start up, so we’ll see how it goes! LOL)

Anyways, just thought you might want to add that under your freelance writing links.

  6. Karen Said,

there are lots of Work At Home programs out there. some programs are scam. I only stick to making blogs and monetizing it with Google Adsense.

  7. Khris Miller Said,

owning a couple of blogs and websites and monetizing them with adsense or adbrite is a good way to Work at home. you can also answer paid surveys but most of them are scam sites.
